The Clowns Headquarters

This was created as an illustration for a scene in a novel I've been working on for a while. The main character finds an old abandoned Victorian amusement arcade at the edge of a pier. Adventure ensues. But also this is very much based on architecture and mood from actual places I grew up around as well as lots of similar seaside towns in the UK. You would often get old, decaying Victorian buildings that had cheap renovations made in the 50s/60s to cover up all the historical architecture, and then in the 80s, as tourism declined, they just became very cheap, decaying arcades with remnants of their history hidden in dark corners. Today, most have been torn down.
